Simulation of a binary neutron star merger using a general relativistic smooth particle hydrodynamics (SPH) code for the APR4 EOS model. The upper panel shows the evolution of the rest-mass density, while the lower panel shows the corresponding gravitational wave emission. After the merger, the remnant oscillates in different modes which emitt gravitational waves. The 3D volume object is rendered with plotly.
